Valentines Inspo For a Summer

Springs and Winters have had their blog, and now it’s time for Summers! Whether you have a plan for Valentines Day, Galentines day, or just fancy treating yourself because you deserve it, here’s a moodboard for you with what I’ve curated for Summers.

Before we continue, I can’t say it enough; Valentines Day is only a day - it doesn’t define you or your worth, so if you don’t have any plans then why not take yourself out for a coffee and have a date with yourself?

And because Summers have so many pinks to play with, the look I’ve curated it doesn’t need to be overtly ‘Valentines’, because I’ve decided to focus on Burgundy and Rose, alongside Silver which cuts through the pink tones and adds an edge.

Texture is a really good way to make an outfit interesting. Depending on what works for your body shape and personality (which you can discover more about in Style Analysis) you can either increase or decrease the texture to suit what works for you.

Starting with the & Other Stories spaghetti strap top, the darts ensure that it’s not overly baggy, but the material offers a softness that is flattering and comfortable. Paired with the Amy Lynn Silver Trousers makes the look more applicable for cocktails or a more edgy vibe that Summers sometimes need so it’s not overly girly.

Making the colour echo from the top to the bottom means there’s consistency and balance, and the Office heels have a flamboyant feature of flowers that bring interest and a fun feature that is different to the usual heels out there.

On the subject of colour being echoed throughout the outfit, the Jon Richard silver earrings honour the silver from the trousers and balance the look. The heart details on the earrings nods to Valentines Day without being too on the nose.

If you know me at all, you’ll know headbands are a staple for me, and I found the Roseings braided headband in burgundy. I love the idea of features and details being scattered throughout the outfit as it elevates the look and adds more texture and interest.

Let’s be honest, it’s still February, so a coat is a must to make sure you’re not freezing as well as fabulous. This Ted Baker coat will harmonise with the outfit and add a chic finish.

To tie all the colours together and finish the look, I sourced this Verano Hill beaded bag which includes all the colours, incorporates the floral details from the shoes, and completes the Valentines, Galentines or solo-date ensemble.

So whether you take influences from the overall look, or decide to do the whole thing - know that you’re incredible just as you are, and deserve to feel incredible whatever your 14th February looks like.
