Finding Your Colours In ‘& Other Stories’

When people come to their Colour Analysis appointment, they often all ask the same question: ‘how do I find my colours in the shops?’.

It’s a valid question, because for most of our lives pre-Colour Analysis we shop in a habitual way, where we buy familiar items that all feel a bit ‘samey’.

Before I started to take control back of my wardrobe, I bought black or blue jeans with a white or black blouse/t-shirt. I never had to worry if the shops stocked anything because I knew I could easily find the items I’d always found. I was on autopilot.

When you enter the world of colour, it feels new and exciting. Sometimes even daunting. So I’m here to ease your concerns and show you that you can, in fact, find your colours in the shops - and it’s easier than you think.

I usually use this example when I’m talking to my clients; when my Dad found out my Mum was pregnant with my brother, he said he suddenly started noticing pregnant people everywhere. It was on his mind. When Jonno and I upgraded our car, we suddenly started to see that make and model everywhere, even though we’d never seen it on the road before. It was on our mind.

My point is this: you might think you’ve never seen the colours from your season in the shops before, but I promise you that you will. They will be on your mind.

When you’ve been to see me, I’ll have given you your colour fan and book that tells you how to find, wear and shop for your colours, and using these materials (as well as seeing the difference colour has made to you in your session) you will have the tools to find your season wherever your go.

Don’t get me wrong, some shops might focus more on one season rather than another, but once I’ve introduced you to your season and you’ve seen the difference it’s made to your complexion, you’ll start seeing your colours everywhere.

To prove this point, I’ve been on the & Other Stories website and curated collections within each season, so you can see that your colours really are out there.

If you’ve not had your colours ‘done’ and you’re curious as to what it’s all about, email me or check out the services page, as well as the FAQ page.

Winter has a boldness that and stands out. It’s a cool-based season that contrasts and has an icy edge to it. These colours you can’t miss - they are vibrant and clear.

In the same way that Autumn is a blended season, Summer has those lovely blended tones too. The difference is, it’s cool-based like winter. Summer colours are beautoful and all harmonise together.
