Valentines Day Inspo for a Winter

As February 14th edges closer, I am rolling out a series of blogs for outfit inspiration, along with the colour palette for your season.

Before I go any further, the most important thing you read out of this whole blog, is this: You are loved regardless of Valentines Day. You are so important, valuable, needed in this world, and no random day in February defines whether you have value or not.

So that being said, if you did want to explore each look for each season, as we begin with Winter, I’ve focused on the metal, a neutral and of course - scarlet red. I’ve linked all the looks in this blog, too.

Colour harmony is vital when curating an outfit, it’s what makes you look effortlessly ‘put together’. Colour harmony is what you learn in your Colour Analysis, and it essentially means that your colour palette all goes together; the base of the colour is the same (blue or yellow) and then the saturation, clarity and tones all work alongside each other. You can see from the three colours I’ve used in my curation here, that the saturation of colour, vivid tones and the depth of the colours are all well balanced, meaning if you’re a Winter, they’ll pull you into focus.

This look is high in texture; using fringing, mesh, leather and satin to create interest and conversation points in the outfit. I am obsessed with this Jayley coat, that has swish and a nod to Western cowgirl at it’s core. It wouldn’t be Valentines Day without love hearts, and these shoes and top both from Asos have an overt on brand heart for the day. Red is a colour that can make people panic, so try to let your wild side out and give it a go!

I can’t get enough of the bag from Joe Browns, it’s fun, playful, romantic and adds another point of interest (something you find out about in your Style Analysis) that makes you stand out.

Manth Jewellery absolutely smash it every time, and they have brought out these cute love heart earrings and offer them in various sizes depending on what your vibe is. I personally would choose the biggest - but that’s not a surprise! The price is unreal, and they can be used all year round too - get them before they’re gone! And whilst we’re talking about accessories, I actually bought this hair grip a few weeks ago from Asos and it immediately makes any up-do feel more interesting without having to make much effort. I love the satin texture and it has a Mob Wife feel to it.

Finally, we’re onto the All Saints leather skirt - it’s sold out in most places, but I found it on the House of Fraser website (you’re welcome!) and the exposed silver zip makes every Winter happy that you have silver to harmonise with your colours rather than gold.

So whether you’re having a Galentines, Valentines or just simple treating yourself because you deserve it, why not treat yourself to an outfit that’s playful, tactile and makes you enjoy February 14th regardless of if you have any plans. You’re worth it.
